As a therapist, the experience of being so intricately entwined in the healing process of both my patients and myself
is a blessing that fills me with a deep sense of gratitude and awe. The connection of all humans, all life and matter
in the universe is deepened each and everyday as a result of this experience.
However, the wisdom inherent in this healing place that speaks over and over again tells not of a 'healer' and the 'healed',
but rather of 'self-healing' and 'self-knowledge'. We can take what we learn and share the wisdom we gather with others
on our path. But the choice to listen, the choice to learn, and the choice to heal, remain within each individual.
I believe we must first commit to our own self-healing. This is a journey not an end result. We begin with an awareness
of ourselves and come to accept ourselves piece by beautiful piece. When we are ready, we begin to truly see the beauty in
others and reach out in our struggles and triumphs to make a connection. The more we reach out from a place of love rather
than fear, the more we draw love into our midst and create a space of positive creation for others who come into contact
with us, and the more we recognize similar places of positive energy that others are creating!
I began teaching workshops because I understand the process of healing is one of self discovery rather than one of
external bestowment. Healing is not 'something that happens to' a person. Healing is learning, assimilating and growing.
Healing is about empowerment.
Empowerment is a term of great magnitude. It implies both great opportunity and absolute responsibility. We create our own
reality and our own world. We can change our own reality and our own world. And not just for ourselves. The more we heal,
the more we are responsible to others so that they might heal. This is not to say we must take on another's predicament or
pain. This is to say that we must remain true to our own light so that it shines bright enough to provide the hope to others.
'Live by example,' we all know the phrase. The more we live love and light, the more we create love and light. The more we
accept ourselves, the more we accept others.
Healing is acceptance.
The workshops, online courses, instructional dvd's and Daily Practices are all tools for healing:
Healing Ourselves, Healing Each Other, and Healing the Earth.
